PowerHeart AED
The Powerheart AED with RHYTHMx technology is the only public
access defibrillator designed for people exhibiting symptoms of
cardiac arrest, making earlier intervention possible. The
Powerheart AED will safely monitor the victim and advise whether a
shock is necessary. It is the only AED that can provide
continuous monitoring capabilities during and after cardiac
arrest, thereby protecting the victim against the reoccurrence of
a life-threatening arrhythmia following resuscitation.
Simple one-button operation, lightweight, portable and extremely
easy to use. |

RescueReady Reliability
One of the most important features of the AED's
by Cardiac Science are their high degree of reliability.
Daily, weekly and monthly testing occurs automatically. Each
day, the battery, electronics and electrodes are checked.
Every seven days, these AED's perform a partial charge internally
to test its high-voltage circuitry. Then, once a month the
device performs a full charge internally to test its high voltage
circuitry. Testing the circuitry this way ensures the
device's capacity to deliver a full shock when needed during a
rescue. Cardiac Science AED's are the only AED's with
patented technology that confirms electrodes are in the device and
ready for use. This exclusive feature minimizes the
possibility of arriving at the rescue scene without electrodes or
with electrodes that are unusable. Please email info@ReadyCareCo.com

Ease of Use
Its exclusive ease-of-use features make PowerHeart the AED's of choice for people with
minimal medical training. Rescue situations, especially
those involving a friend, co-worker or family member, are
incredibly stressful and make ease-of-use critical. Although
most AEDs are easy to use, a rescue is made even easier with
patented features such as pre-connected, non-polarized electrodes
and one-button operation. This is important because it
eliminates the need to plug in electrodes during the rescue, thus
eliminating a critical user step. The electrodes are also
non-polarized and labeled for interchangeable use. This
means that either electrode can be placed on the upper right or
lower left of the patient's chest. By making the electrodes
interchangeable, yet another user step is eliminated from the
rescue process.
Cardiac Science AED's have an exclusive one-button
operation. Opening the lid turns PowerHeart
on, and once the electrodes are placed on the patient's chest, the
AED automatically begins analyzing the heart rhythm. If a
life-saving defibrillation shock is required, there is only one
button for the user to push when instructed by the device's text
screen or voice prompts. With these patented features, there
are fewer critical decisions made by the user and less confusion
than with any other AED available. All of which is extremely
important when a user is faced with the emotional and mental
stress associated with rescue situations. Please email info@ReadyCareCo.com

STAR™ Biphasic Technology
There are a number of ways for an AED to
deliver a defibrillation shock. Some devices deliver the
same level of energy each time a shock is delivered. Others
deliver higher levels of energy with each shock, but still
administer the same energy for every patient.
Defibrillation threshold, cellular response and charge balancing
principles are key to determining which energy level is
appropriate for a given patient. These concepts have been
used in the implantable defibrillator industry for many years.
Survivalink incorporated these factors into external
defibrillation to develop its STAR Biphasic technology.
Survivalink's proprietary STAR Biphasic technology introduced
escalating biphasic energy and developed the concept of
customized, variable energy. Unlike conventional biphasic
waveforms, which deliver a fixed energy level regardless of
patient needs, STAR Biphasic varies the energy delivered to each
patient based on the charge balancing principle. This
principle states that once a defibrillation charge is given,
excess or residual charge on the heart's cells must be neutralized
to prevent refibrillation. STAR Biphasic is the only
defibrillation waveform to successfully address this
principle. Delivering energy based on a patient's impedance
- the body's opposition to the flow of electrical current - is
another critical factor to successful defibrillation. STAR
Biphasic technology measures a patient's impedance, adjusts
defibrillation parameters, and delivers a waveform and energy
level customized to the needs of that patient. Over a broad
range of impedance levels, the full range of energy delivered for
the first shock is 140-250 joules. Instead of continually
administering the same level of energy in subsequent shocks, STAR
Biphasic escalates to a higher current to deliver a full energy
range of 190-360 joules. This proven method of escalating
energy is consistent with American Heart Association guidelines
and is well established in the defibrillation industry. In
clinical trials, STAR Biphasic was 100 percent effective at
defibrillating patients in ventricular fibrillation - the most
common form of sudden cardiac arrest - on the first shock.
These clinical trials were performed at the Cleveland Clinic,
Cleveland; Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, and other
leading cardiology centers in the United States.
Pre-hospital data has also shown defibrillation success rates of
89 percent for STAR Biphasic. For more information about
STAR Biphasic and its clinical performance please email info@ReadyCareCo.com.
